BackOutThere Receives Generous Donation from Royal Caledonian Ball

Edinburgh based veterans charity BackOutThere has received a generous donation of £2,000 from the Royal Caledonian Ball. The presentation was made on Thursday 14th November at a lunch hosted by this years Chairman of the Ball, Mrs Houston Morris, at the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh. The presentation was made to charity founder Alex Freeborn by Mrs Morris who commented “The tradition of giving funds to Scottish charities has always been central to the purpose and meaning of the Ball. Of course the event itself is a wonderful occasion. It is an opportunity for people to reel together and remember Scottish traditions of dance, dress and music. However the importance of raising money for Scottish charities is paramount.”

BackOutThere’s founder, Alex Freeborn commented “The generous donation from the Royal Caledonian Ball will support a number of BackOutThere’s current projects. This includes our veteran led environmental beach project in East Lothian and WW1 commemorative garden at Gardening Scotland 2014. Not only are these projects intended to have a positive impact on the local people but they aim to build veterans’ skills and confidence in project planning and management within a close support network.”
